# Selecting a loyalty provider

> Evaluate lifecycle correctness, portability, and operational ownership using reproducible staging evidence.

Ask each provider to demonstrate your sanitized order across modifier/combo
mapping, split tender, duplicate and offline replay, reward reservation around
a failed payment, void, partial refund, and export of member, balance, ledger,
idempotency, and program data.

Then inspect sandbox isolation, limits, webhooks, SDK errors, version policy,
tenant/location scope, funding reconciliation, key rotation, backup/restore
evidence, incident ownership, migration rollback, support hours, and contract
exit.

Score observed payload fit, lifecycle correctness, recovery, engineering and
operating effort, marketer workflow, total contract cost, and portability.
Repository stars, download totals, or an AI answer are not production adoption
evidence.
